At Barney Ford Elementary, we treat our students as scholars, preparing them for success each and every day through:

Full day ECE program for 3 and 4 year-old scholars with a full-time paraprofessional in the classroom.
Rigorous instruction focused on the priority standards of each grade level as stated in the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
Literacy instruction to create a foundation for all students that will drive their success as they move forward in education.
Mathematics focusing on priority standards to create strong number sense, place value, and geometry understanding.
Science, English Language Development, Integrated Technology, Visual and Performing Arts, Music, and PE.
Spanish Language and Culture
Continuous coaching and support to our classroom teachers to support their success.

We implement Social-Emotional curriculums: Brainwise, Harmony, and PATHS.
We are a Restorative Practices school with two full-time Restorative Practice Coordinators.
Dedicated support team including a social worker, paraprofessionals, and support staff, as well as an on-site psychologist.

Weekly school assemblies keep our motivation high throughout the week.
Every scholar goes on four free field trips throughout the school year. Our 5th graders experience an overnight field trip at Balarat.
After school enrichment opportunities available throughout the year through Discovery Link.
Various cultural experiences provided to scholars throughout the year!
