Discovery Link – After School Enrichment

Barney Ford families, you are happily invited to join the Discovery Link After School Enrichment program! This program will be offered for FREE at Barney Ford Elementary Monday through Friday. We offer unique learning opportunities in a kind and accepting environment. Each day, your students will be provided with curriculum-based programming by trained and dedicated staff. Among the many activities planned, our staff will offer:

– Homework help

– Social-emotional learning activities

– Free snacks

– Grade-appropriate educational activities

Our Winter Enrichment has begun! Here is what our programming currently offers:

• Día de Muertos – Decorate sugar skulls and create paper marigolds and papel picado to understand how life and death are celebrated during Día de Muertos!
• The Book Den – Explore your love for reading!
• Timberline Neighborhood Choir Program – An ensemble for singers new to singing and reading music!
• Love Academy Mentoring & Leadership Program – We engage with students entering the program to aid mental stability, self-confidence, and a non-violence approach to conflict resolution and social change.
• Girl Scouts – Engage girls on topics that include life skills, entrepreneurship, outdoor education, and STEM! Kids who participate in our programs will also receive a free Girl Scout membership for a year and outside access to all Girl Scout events and resources.
